Edilson MOUGENOT BONFIM was born in Loanda-Paraná, Brazil. After graduating in Law, at the age of 20, he began his career with the São Paulo State”s Public Prosecution in 1988. Initially he worked in several cities within the State and was then made Prosecutor at the 1st. “Tribunal do Júri de São Paulo” (1st. Criminal Court of the Jury of São Paulo) by merit in 1992. Since 2010 he has been chosen by the São Paulos’Mayor as Head of the Internal of Public Affairs. He was responsible for several high profile prosecutions (e.g. “The Korean Mafia Case”, “The Black Widow Case”, and the “Case of the Maniac of the Park”), between 1992-2002 in São Paulo.A Professor in Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure, Mr. Mougenot Bonfim has lectured at both Brazilian and many foreign Universities. These include lectures to Judges, Prosecutors and Lawyers in Brazilian Superior Schools.He is the author of numerous articles and books, which have been published in his native Brazil and overseas. 3. President of the 1st. World Congress of Public Prosecutors (São Paulo, 2000) promoted by the São Paulo Public Association of Public Prosecutors with the support of the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, The Brazilian Ministry of Justice, FBI (Federal Bureau Investigation) and DEA (Drugs Enforcement Administration) of USA, and State Public Prosecution of France.

Mr. MOUGENOT BONFIM has given lectures in the following countries: Peru, Argentine, Chile, Guatemala, France, Germany, Sweden, Colombia, Venezuela, ex-Yugoslavia, Mexico, USA, South Korea, Canada, Chine and others.
